Ski resort is situated at the slopes of a very special mountain, that we call The Sleeping Volcano. The reason for this is, that this mountain used to be an active volcanic area, very unique for this part of the world. Its specific construction makes it still special, as there are very rare species of plants growing here. Another strange feature is that if you take a compass with you while you are on the top of it, it will have difficulties with showing you the directions of North and South. This abnormality was caused by a strike of lightening. This is one of two places like this in Europe. You can get to the top of the mountain by chair lift, from there you can get a picturesque view of the Tatra, Pieniny and The Gorce Mountain Ranges along with the four national parks (Pieniny, Gorce, Tatra, Babia Gora National Park), the Czorsztyn Lake and the Podhale Valley.
